Dating to the Middle Devonian Period approximately 390 million years ago, this specimen displays the robust form and dramatic spination characteristic of Drotops.

The trilobite features a strongly segmented exoskeleton with numerous prominent spines extending across the thorax and around the margins of the body. Its textured cephalon and raised preparation give the fossil substantial three dimensional depth. The specimen is prepared in a distinctly elevated position, making its extensive spination especially visible from the sides and creating a dramatic profile.

Measuring approximately 2.5 inches long, the trilobite is presented on an approximately 4.5 x 3.75 inch matrix. The dark fossil contrasts with the lighter surrounding stone, highlighting its detailed segmentation, textured surface, and rows of projecting spines.

A Certificate of Authenticity from Tyrannostorus is included.

Specimen Details

Species: Drotops armatus
Fossil Type: Trilobite
Geological Age: Middle Devonian
Approximate Age: 390 million years
Formation: Hamar Laghdad
Locality: Morocco
Trilobite Length: Approx. 2.5 inches
Matrix Size: Approx. 4.5 x 3.75 inches
Certificate of Authenticity: Included

With its dense spination, detailed segmentation, and unusually elevated three dimensional preparation, this Drotops armatus makes an eye catching display piece and a distinctive addition to any fossil or natural history collection.

You will receive the exact specimen pictured.

Contact Us I Shipping I Returns I Authenticity
