Specimen: Atlas Moth (Attacus atlas)
Frame Color: Black
Frame Dimensions: 15" x 12"
The Atlas Moth is one of the largest moth species in the world, found in the tropical forests of Southeast Asia. Its massive wingspan and intricate, snake-head-like wing tips make it a fascinating and unique specimen. Unlike butterflies, Atlas Moths do not have functional mouthparts as adults, relying entirely on energy stored from their caterpillar stage to complete their brief but spectacular life cycle. Their bold patterns and sheer size make them a prized addition to any collection.
Our bug boxes are larger than most. The frames are 15" x 12" and feature beautifully preserved specimens mounted on a linen background in a wooden frame behind clear glass. All specimens have been ethically sourced. You will receive the bug box pictured in this listing. The photos reflect natural variances in lighting. Approximate measurements and additional details are listed above.
