Devil Horn Cyphaspis Trilobite Pair

This striking fossil specimen features two “Devil Horn” Cyphaspis trilobites displayed together on a single matrix from the Bou Dib Formation of Morocco. Dating to the Middle Devonian Period, approximately 390 million years ago, these trilobites are instantly recognizable for their dramatic horn-like spines.

Each trilobite measures approximately 1 inch long and displays a beautifully defined segmented exoskeleton with prominent spines extending from the head and body. Their three-dimensional preparation raises the trilobites above the surrounding stone, allowing their intricate anatomy and unusual spiny morphology to be appreciated from multiple angles.

The two specimens are positioned separately across the approximately 5 x 3.5 inch matrix, creating an impressive natural history display. Their dark coloration provides a striking contrast against the lighter stone and makes the fine segmentation and delicate spines especially prominent.

An excellent addition for trilobite collectors, Devonian fossil enthusiasts, or anyone drawn to some of the more unusual forms of prehistoric marine life.
