This beautiful Grape Agate specimen features naturally rounded, botryoidal formations that closely resemble clusters of tiny grapes. Found in Manakarra on Sulawesi Island in Indonesia, grape agate is actually a rare form of chalcedony rather than a true agate. Its soft, flowing shapes and rich coloration make it an eye catching addition to any mineral or crystal collection.
Colors range from pale lavender to deep purple, with some specimens showing greenish tones. Many pieces display a subtle sparkle caused by fine quartz crystals growing across the surface of the spheres, adding extra visual depth and texture. Each specimen is completely natural and unique, formed through slow mineral deposition within volcanic rock.
Grape agate is a relatively new discovery in the mineral market, first exported from Indonesia around 2015. Because of its limited locality and striking appearance, it has quickly become a favorite among collectors, educators, and crystal enthusiasts alike. This specimen is perfect for display, gifting, or adding a modern classic to your collection.
