Kolihapeltis chlupaci Trilobite
This impressive Kolihapeltis chlupaci trilobite comes from the Kess-Kess Formation of Morocco and dates to the Middle Devonian Period, approximately 390 million years ago.
Kolihapeltis is a distinctive trilobite known for its elaborate spines and highly sculpted appearance. This specimen measures approximately 1.75 inches long and displays excellent definition throughout the segmented thorax and rounded pygidium. Long, gracefully curved spines extend from the cephalon, while additional spines along the body give the fossil its characteristic dramatic appearance.
The dark trilobite is beautifully presented against a light-colored prepared surface on a substantial 3.5 x 3.5 inch natural matrix. Viewed from the side, the raised three-dimensional preparation is especially apparent, allowing the fossil's intricate anatomy and spines to be appreciated from multiple angles.
Dating back approximately 390 million years, this specimen offers a remarkable glimpse into the diverse marine ecosystems of the Devonian Period.
