This distinctive Scotoharpes trilobite is a striking example of the unusual morphology found among harpetid trilobites. From Morocco, this specimen features the broad, horseshoe shaped cephalic fringe characteristic of Scotoharpes, creating an unmistakable silhouette.
The approximately 2 inch trilobite displays a dark, strongly segmented body surrounded by a broad fringe with warm brown coloration. Long, curved extensions sweep upward along either side of the body, while the elevated preparation gives the specimen a dramatic three dimensional appearance. Viewed from different angles, the preparation highlights both the segmentation of the body and the distinctive shape of the surrounding fringe.
