Tektites are silicate glass most likely formed when meteorites collide with terrestrial (Earth) rocks. The impact of a large meteorite creates enough energy to melt soil and rocks. The material from an impact is projected over great distances. It rapidly melts then quickly cools, forming tektites. The only thing cooler than rocks made from meteors smashing into Earth is owning one! Now you can have your own piece of tektite that comes with a 3.5" x 6" informational card. Each piece is unique, so the size and shape may vary. This product could present a choking hazard, so it is not recommended for children under 3 years old.
