Walliserops tridens Trilobite
With its unmistakable three-pronged head structure and elaborate spines, this Walliserops tridens trilobite is a dramatic example of the extraordinary forms that evolved in ancient Devonian seas.
Dating to the Middle Devonian Period approximately 390 million years ago, this specimen comes from the Timrhanrhart Formation of Morocco. Walliserops is especially recognizable for the unusual trident-shaped projection extending from the front of its head. Combined with its prominent genal spines, segmented exoskeleton, and broad pygidium, this distinctive anatomy makes Walliserops one of the most visually striking trilobites found in Morocco.
This specimen measures approximately 1 inch long and is presented on an approximately 3 x 2.5 inch matrix. The surrounding stone provides a natural backdrop that highlights the trilobite's dark exoskeleton, distinctive trident, and intricate spiny features.
A Certificate of Authenticity from Tyrannostorus is included.
