Cyphaspis Trilobite (1" on 3 X 2.5" Matrix)

Cyphaspis Trilobite Fossil from Morocco

This distinctive Cyphaspis trilobite from Morocco showcases the unusual spines and ornamentation that make these small trilobites especially eye catching. Although compact in size, the specimen has a dramatic three dimensional appearance and an impressive amount of visible detail.

Measuring approximately 1 inch long, the trilobite displays a strongly segmented body, a rounded cephalon covered in fine bumps, and several prominent spines extending outward from the body. The elevated preparation allows these delicate structures to be viewed from multiple angles and gives the fossil an almost sculptural appearance.

The specimen is presented on an approximately 3 x 2.5 inch natural matrix. The dark fossil contrasts nicely against the gray stone, while the irregular edges of the matrix retain a natural appearance.
