Walliserops tridens Trilobite
With its unmistakable three-pronged head structure and elaborate spines, this Walliserops tridens trilobite is a dramatic example of the extraordinary forms that evolved in ancient Devonian seas.
Dating to the Middle Devonian Period approximately 390 million years ago, this specimen comes from the Timrhanrhart Formation of Morocco. Walliserops is especially recognizable for the unusual trident-shaped projection extending from the front of its head. Combined with its prominent genal spines, segmented exoskeleton, and broad pygidium, this distinctive anatomy makes Walliserops one of the most visually striking trilobites found in Morocco.
This specimen measures approximately 2.25 inches long and is presented in a freestanding display measuring approximately 3 inches tall. The surrounding matrix has been carefully prepared into an elevated pedestal, allowing the trilobite to be viewed from multiple angles and highlighting its three-dimensional form and unusual anatomy.
A Certificate of Authenticity from Tyrannostorus is included.
