Meet Deinonychus, the larger cousin of the famous Velociraptor. Like its smaller relative, this predator carried an oversized sickle-shaped claw on each foot, used to grasp and subdue its prey. Evidence suggests Deinonychus was covered in feathers, making it both swift and birdlike in appearance.

The discovery of Deinonychus forever changed how scientists viewed dinosaurs. Once thought to be slow, lumbering reptiles, this agile hunter revealed that dinosaurs could be quick, intelligent, and possibly warm-blooded—more like modern birds than reptiles.

Scientific Name: Deinonychus (“Terrible Claw”)

This detailed Deinonychus figure features realistic feathering, folded wings, and its iconic curved foot claws prominently displayed. Shown at rest, it captures the dinosaur alertly scanning its surroundings, ready for action.

The Deinonychus toy measures approximately 8 ¾ inches long and 3 ½ inches tall from its toes to its nose.
