Own a piece of prehistory with this authentic Tyrannosaur tooth fossil from the Judith River Formation in Montana. This fossil-bearing geologic formation is part of the Montana Group and dates to the Late Cretaceous period, between 79 and 75.3 million years ago.
While not belonging to the famous Tyrannosaurus rex, this tooth comes from one of its impressive earlier relatives—most likely Daspletosaurus or Gorgosaurus. Both were apex predators of their time, closely related to T. rex, and possessed the same fearsome adaptations of a carnivorous tyrannosaurid: strong jaws, sharp serrated teeth, and a dominating presence in their ecosystem.
This specimen offers a direct link to the age of dinosaurs and a fascinating glimpse into the evolutionary lineage that led to the mighty T. rex.
