Petrified wood is the state fossil of Arizona. It is formed over millions of years. This happens when plant material is buried by sediment in an area low in oxygen with flowing water rich in minerals. Eventually, the wood turns into a fossil through permineralization when the original plant material is replaced by minerals. This listing is for 1 piece of polished petrified wood. It comes neatly packaged in the pictured 3 x 2" case, which makes an impressive display. These pictures are representative of what you will receive, but each specimen is unique and can vary in color and size.
