This polished mammoth tooth section is an authentic Ice Age fossil that offers a striking look at the internal structure of a prehistoric giant. Mammoths were large, elephant like mammals that lived during the Pleistocene epoch and became extinct around 4,000 years ago. Their massive teeth were specially adapted for grinding coarse grasses and vegetation, resulting in the distinctive layered enamel patterns visible in cross section.
Each section has been carefully polished to highlight the natural ridges and color variations formed over thousands of years. These patterns are unique to each tooth and reflect the mammoth’s diet and age. Polished mammoth tooth slices are highly sought after for educational displays, fossil collections, and natural history decor.
Multiple individual specimens are available. Use the menu to select from the available options. Each slice measures approximately 3 to 3.5 inches and is naturally unique in coloration, pattern, and shape.
