Own an authentic piece of prehistoric history with this genuine Tyrannosaurus rex tooth fossil from the world famous Hell Creek Formation of Montana. Measuring 2.68 inches long, this remarkable specimen was discovered on private land in Jordan, Montana during the summer of 2025.
This tooth features beautiful natural enamel, a strong profile, and impressive visible serrations along the carinae. The tooth displays the classic robust morphology associated with Tyrannosaurus rex and makes an exceptional collector specimen for dinosaur enthusiasts, museums, or investment grade fossil collections.
Ultraviolet (UV) light photography has been included to provide transparency regarding restoration and preservation work. Under UV light, the darker areas fluoresce differently and indicate limited restoration. The lighter portions visible in the UV light images represent original fossil material, while the darker sections show repaired or restored areas. Overall, the restoration appears relatively limited and was completed to preserve the structural integrity and presentation of the specimen.
The specimen retains substantial original tooth material and presents beautifully both in hand and on display. Fine enamel texture and strong serration detail are still visible, adding to the authenticity and visual appeal of the fossil.

About Tyrannosaurus rex
Tyrannosaurus rex was one of the largest and most powerful land predators to ever live. Reaching lengths of up to 40 feet and weighing as much as 8 to 9 tons, T. rex dominated western North America during the very end of the Age of Dinosaurs.
Its massive jaws contained dozens of thick, serrated teeth designed for crushing bone and tearing flesh. Unlike the narrow blade-like teeth of some theropods, Tyrannosaurus rex teeth were heavily built and adapted to withstand tremendous bite forces. Paleontologists estimate that T. rex possessed one of the strongest bites of any terrestrial animal known.
Teeth from Tyrannosaurus rex are among the most sought-after dinosaur fossils in the world due to their rarity, scientific importance, and iconic status in paleontology. Each authentic tooth represents a direct connection to one of history’s most legendary predators and the final chapter of the dinosaur era before the mass extinction event approximately 66 million years ago.
About the Hell Creek Formation
The Hell Creek Formation is one of the most famous fossil producing formations in the world and is renowned for yielding some of the last dinosaurs to live before the end Cretaceous extinction event. Spanning parts of Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming, the formation dates to approximately 66 million years ago.
This ancient environment once consisted of rivers, floodplains, forests, and coastal lowlands that supported an incredible diversity of life. Fossils discovered from the Hell Creek Formation include Triceratops, Edmontosaurus, Ankylosaurus, giant crocodilians, turtles, fish, mammals, and of course Tyrannosaurus rex.
Because of its scientific importance and association with Tyrannosaurus rex, authentic fossils from the Hell Creek Formation remain highly prized by collectors, museums, and researchers alike. Fossils with documented provenance from known localities within the formation are especially desirable for both educational and collector purposes.
